I’m Ayla Davis and I specialize in precision haircuts, bold haircolor and extensions. I am the owner and CEO of Transcending Trims Inc located in Suite #15 at Pomp Suites Lincoln Center in Stockton, California. I have been providing professional hair services for over 17 years.
From an early age I have had a strong passion for the beauty industry. As a child I would regularly go with my mom to the hair salon. I grew up fascinated and envious of the amazing talent of the hairstylists. At 12 years old I began to play around with my own hair and make-up. My Mom was always supportive of my changing my look, so it came as no surprise when in my junior year of high school, I decided to study Cosmetology as a profession. I knew that I wanted a visually creative, physically active and social career.
In 2004, I began Cosmetology school at Monterey Beauty Academy in Santa Clara, California while still attending Santa Clara High School. Cosmetology proved to be everything that I wanted in a career, so I proudly graduated from high school and Cosmetology school within the same year. I began working at a local hair salon in Santa Clara as a receptionist. That is where my real education began.
I worked at Sanctuary Salon for 8 years. I quickly moved from receptionist to a hairstylist’s assistant, to a master stylist. The foundation for everything I have learned in the beauty industry I owe to Sandy, Sanctuary Salon and her team. In addition to make-up and hairstyling I was responsible for social media marketing. I learned all sides of business, such as how to work as a team, provide relaxing services, and the techniques and tools necessary to become a superior hairstylist and business owner.
In 2013 I made the jump to independence when I became the owner of my first salon suite Ayla Davis Hair located at Suite #27 in Sola Salon Studios Willow Glen in San Jose, California. For 6 years I thrived as a sole proprietor, but in 2019 I decided to take a step back from doing hair to focus my time and attention to my growing family.
In 2018 we purchased a home and moved from the Bay Area to Stockton, California. We welcomed our second child in early 2020 and as a result of these changes and the sudden onset of the 2020 pandemic, I decided to create a beautiful salon space in our home. Now a place for inspiration, these days my home salon serves primarily as my office.
As my children grew older and the pandemic regulations lifted, I realized that my goal was to return to my business so in June of 2022, I opened Transcending Trims Inc inside suite #15 at Pomp Suites Lincoln Center, Stockton. I am so excited for this next step in my career. I look forward to growing my business, meeting new faces, building a place in the community and sharing my love for hair for many more years to come.
Not only do I provide hair services beyond the average haircut, like amazing color and stunning hair extensions, but I am interested in the healing journey of a hair service. My position is a privilege and honor that I do not take lightly and the relationships that I build are powerful. I am studying Reiki and energy healing and I plan to incorporate these meaningful services into my salon suite. I want to provide an elevated experience for my clients.
I continually educate myself. I stay up to date with the latest in technology and trends and I regularly attend classes and conventions to discover the newest ground-breaking services and products. I am trained at advanced levels from Redken, Pureology and HotHeads Hair Extensions. I have been lucky enough to attend the Redken Exchange, an educational interactive in New York City, multiple times over the course of my career. In 2017, after much studying and an intense evaluation I proudly became a Redken Certified Haircolorist.
I keep a strong social media presence to stay connected with my clients and the industry. I always have my eye on celebrities and trends. I have been able to use websites like Pinterest, Instagram, YouTube and Facebook to stay informed on the latest styles and looks.
My objective is to provide my clients relaxing beauty services in a peaceful and clean environment. I create a complete look through cutting, coloring, styling, and extensions. I want to enhance the beauty in everyone and make them look and feel their best. I want to be the best hairstylist that I can be. Better than yesterday. I believe there is always room to grow and improve myself, my craft and my business.

their two children, Michael & Alysanne
their four animals: dogs, Cadbury and BabyGirl,
and cats, Radley and Amira.
In her spare time Ayla enjoys creating art, macrame, gardening, and generally making all things in life beautiful.
